Carlo Brenna was born in Milan, that's also the place of his artistic formation. He has exhibited his works in numerous personals exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
"Two paths to satisfy the desire and the necessity of absolute. One of imagination and the other of love. In the meantime, an aesthetic whirling unremitting reproposing that particular, an inusual leitmotiv: the woman. The woman in all her metaphysics, with all her various facets. The woman, symbol of love introduced into larger context of a society that belong to her, in her architecture, in the sweet palette of sentiments that are the suitable dress for her being. It's so Carlo Brenna thinks his way to make art. With all the artist's autonomy, on the painting builds the fresco of his new interior age. It's not enough to talk about aesthetic fact or beauty or charism, as the legitimited work's of this artist is in his virtue language's. Every subject in each of his work proposes symbols, codes, admittance's keys to his interior world. Decoding all that means to understand each feeling and to achieve the more step to pass the limit of fantasy-reality or reality-fantasy. There's also a strict intellectual opinion, the result in years and years of work and research until to disclose and offer to the public those spaces born from the emotion. It's when all the work becomes shining and it's shining the world where that's included. It's born an image highly lyric that seems wavering in suspension between actual reality and past memory. The growth's process of Carlo Brenna doesn't remain limited in the messages recalled to his works, in the revelations, that sometime he suggests, in the research, in where are all the result and there's something more: a voice, a signal, a warning perhaps, that propose reflection both for their deep religiosity and because they can be highly profane. Every Carlo Brenna's work is the identity of a visage and a situation, without dread to exceed, and an era; it's an exciting itinerary, an exalting tracking shot that doesn't ignore the absoluteness of some immediacy and the quietly sensuality of some magic accords. Sonority of acient istruments, skies and glass windows, reflections and colonnades, cathedral and boundless squares evoke fantastic cities that in the pentagram staves or in the palette's coulors that belong only to the artist's fervid imagination. "A quiet atmospheare, almost mystical, leads to continuous reflections it's that respire admiring this artist's work. In fact Brenna's the virtue to give life through the female figure always immersed in charming characters, delicate coulor's touch and chromatic combination as sweet and soft are the female bodies that emerge from oneiric landscapes, without time and age. The woman, for the artist, includes all the nature's positivity of humainty; nothing of her is negative. Under this masks (in fact no of them have never the visage) similar to medieval warriers' helmets,it hides every human being with all his positive loads. So what am I? Something that thinks. What is something that thinks? Something that doubts, that conceives, that stops, that denies, that wants and doesn't want.That imagenes also and feels. Well, it'n not few, if all this things belong to my nature.
I certainly have the faculty to image; because, although it could happen that all the things I imagine are not real, Notwithstanding this faculty to imagine continous, to be really in me, and it takes part of my mind.
My spirit is pleased to lose and can't contain more in the truth's right limits.
