On the occasion of the XV editino of Vienna sul Lago Iam very glad to address my greeting to the young girls,who, through this event, will realize their dream.
I appreciate the Navy Academy Cadets, for the care and partecipation. They are a wonderful example of men and officers who honour Italy in the world.
With my deeo appreciation for the project of solidarity, which inspire the event, I wish the deserved success and I send my warmest greeting to you and all the partecipants.
On the occasion of event “Vienna sul Lago”, I am very glad to address, in the name of the Armed Forces and mine, the warmest greeting.
“Vienna sul Lago”, at the fifteenth edition, is an event that confirm its prestige in Italy and abroad, pursuing important aims of culture and charity.
Also this year, the traditional appointment will include charity actions, and in addition it will be an important occasion of education and meeting, in order to streghten the linkbetween the Armed Forces and the citizens.
I thank the Organizing Committee for the attention given to the Navy Academy Cadets, and I wish to address to you, the Authorities, to the Honour Committee and to every person who have worked for the organization of the event, my warmest greeting fot the best performance.
To the young girls I address a warma greeting and the wish for the success in their future life.
The Viennese Great Ball a rite, a dream, a message, the symbol of a world and a time that is worthwile to repropose to the nowdays young people.
The best way to renew the values of a wonderful tradition and make them present, to discover their deepest meaning, even for that people who seem don’t take care, or even forgot these values.
Honour to association of culture and solidarity that, this year is going to give the raised money to the Turin and Novara families that live in poverty.

On behalf of Austria and myself, I would like to express my special wish for this year edition of “Vienna sul Lago”, important and traditional event of culture, art and sociality, admirably prepared in the magnificent Venaria Reale Palace.
Congratulations to all the organizers alsa for the scope of charity chosen this year, and I address to all the partecipants an happy “A tutto Valzer”.

As mayor of Vienna it is, as always, a privilige, a pleasure and an honour to patronage the Great Ball “Vienna sul Lago”.
It is a traditional event which this year is held for the fifteenth time, and it contributes to streghten the relation and frienship between Austria and Italy..
I wish for all the partecipants a wonderful night listening to the viennese music.
Finally, I would like to show my appreciation to all the organizers and I wish a great deal of success.

FROM THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE
This evening Saturday 21st of November 2009, in the splendid frame of the Venaria Reale Palace is renewed the tradition and the magic of the Great Ball “Vienna sul Lago”. The Organizing Committee addresses its warm greeting and thanks to all the civilian and military Authorities, Austrians and Italians, than with their adhesions and support, confirm and renew, year after year, confidence to its initiative. Thanks to all the participants to the event who have contributed to giving importance and testifying the success of the event. Thanks to the media that they have known to pick the spirit of this manifestation, supporting it also to international level. Thanks to our prestigious Military Navy that it does have to tie its name, to the event, and that this evening celebrates with us fourteen years of its uninterrupted participation. Thanks to the young officers of the Navy Academy of Livorno for the engagement that they put in this experience, for the distinguished behavior that they have always held, on the solidity of the values of reference too much often apparently dimmed from the new fashion and tendencies relieve all, lacking in meanings, than as meteors cross our life. Thanks also to young debs, for their dreams, for their hopes, for theirs willingness to live this experience, because they are the actual proof that in order to smile to the life is not necessary to look for empty things but to be engaged with determination to realize own dreams. A thanks to the partner that supports the event economically, believing in the good principles , overcoming the doubts that often it accompanies initiatives like these ones, and to all the collaborators that for years have been working with enthusiasm and professionalism for the best success of the event. Hearty welcome therefore to the best the Italian youth, coming from all Italy: the best because it is distinguished the emotion, the anxiety, the simplicity of these girls who do not ask for " open" the Great Ball in order to begin a career as actress, model or show girl, but simply in order to live, even though for an evening, their romantic dream of children. As far As the Navy Academy cadets is concerned, because it is perceived in the eyes of the these officers the determination to face a difficult path, made of sacrifice and constant engagement, but founded on the ethical values that always have characterized the best moments of the History of our Country. Thanks to these dreams, have become truth concrete important initiatives of solidarity: they have been donated air conditioners to rest houses, to community of young victims of familiar abuses, to centers of voluntary service associations; they have been donated to agencies or voluntary service associations sanitary equipments, computer equipments, have been organized moments of socialization for handicapped boys, old people , very young abandoned bous. The pride of the event is the Croce Costantiniana Onlus, an association that it counts approximately eighty volunteers engaged in the daily service of ordinary sanitary transport and emergency 118 service, assisting old single or abandoned people, in the civil protection (present in recent earthquakes in Molise and Abruzzo). The medal in silver granted to “Vienna sul Lago” from the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano in acknowledgment of the important plans of solidarities, does not have to be considered a point of arrival, but a point of departure. Today “Vienna sul Lago” collects funds in favor of the Turin and Novara families in serious economic difficulty for the plan of the " shopping bag" because the solidarity is part of our history and our culture. Then to the appreciate hosts, to the splendid Debs and the young Officers of our prestigious Military Navy we address our warmest wishes to continue on the undertaken road, with enthusiasm and passion, finding the courage in order to construct, being protagonists, a better future and society.
