The event “Vienna sul Lago” comes this year its 12th edition, confirmed by now, as traditional and waited appointment.
This is an unequivocal sign of the choice’s goodness of the organization and behaviour’s quality and, above all, the highly ideal, cultural and charitable aim, proposed.
So the worldliness and the enjoyment aren’t on the basis of the event, but vice versa, the social, humanitarian, charitable care that, also this year, gains substance through the fund devolution gathered by the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George for his important first aid service.
Also for that, as Minister of Defence, I express my vivid appreciation to have renewed the invitation to the cadets of the Navy Academy, confirming the attention and the sensibility towards the military world and contributing the bonds’ strengthening between citizens and the Army Forces of the Republic.
In confirming the patronage of the Ministry of Defence and the adhesion to the Committee of Honour, I’d express, in the name of the Army Forces and my personal, the best wish to the successful event’s result, above all in its social purposes and also about the contribution to the strengthening of the friendship’s tie between Austria and Italy.
To the President of the committee “Vienna sul Lago”, to everyone has given his contribution in the organization, to the all presents and above all to the young debutantes, a sincere wish, yours faithfully.

A festival of good old times, a meeting in which protagonists, all young people, will live particular emotions on the notes of the great Italian and international music. A dream frame, because about dream it is spoken for debs of the Great Ball Vienna sul Lago, that they will dance accompanied with the Cadets of the prestigious Naval Academy of Livorno. The Great Ball Vienna sul Lago, came the twelfth edition, represents a meaningful appointment for a return to values and traditions that must remain in the memory of our young generations. And it is for that I wish to congratulate the organizers for the excelent job carried out and to send to all the participants my better wishes. Yours sincerely.

It is with great joy that I join up also the edition of this year of the Ball "Vienna sul Lago" with my better auspices for an excellent success. I am very grateful to all Organizers, becouse with this by now traditional initiative at Stresa, Viennese music and Valzer imprints a festivity from dance of all the particular one, that it represents a wonderful symbol of friendship and vicinity between ours two Countries and their citizens in one truly European spirit. I augur therefore that all the participants to the Dance can enjoy to full load, also in 2006, of this gaia festivity atmosphere, in the within of a manifestation that joins in sublime way the inimitabile cultural identity of Italy and Austria.

Vienna is a lucky city for many aspects. The Viennesi loves music and seems that also music loves Vienna. The great masters of classic music like Mozart or Beethoven and also the composers of the sort light as Johann Strass lived in Vienna. Are, without doubt, the Viennesi institutions that cultivate the traditions and keep live the repute of Vienna like the city of music: among them, are the Filarmonici di Vienna, the orchestra of international reputation, and the big concert halls like the Musikverein, konzerthaus or the Opera of State of Vienna. The Balls organized in these halls, are, every year, a true pleasure for Viennesi and the international hosts. They are really happy if the atmosphere and the joy of the Balls of Vienna have therefore a wide success all over the world.
"Vienna on the Lago" is a Ball very special for its incomparable atmosphere and close proximity of the beautiful Lago Maggiore. Also the charitable aim of the Ball shows that joy of living, solemnity and solidarities to the poor people are not in contrast . I am particularly pleased to grant the Patronage to the Debs’ Great Ball "Vienna on the Lago". I hope for the organizers the deserved success and all the participants one wonderful evening and good time.

In the name of the Administration and the town of Stresa, I wish turn my best regards to all people attending to XII edition of the Great Ball of Debuttanti "Vienna on the Lago". I wish to also express a particular praise to the Organizing Committee, than with constant engagement and dedication has transformed this event in an important tradition not only for Stresa but for the Lago Maggiore. Stresa, is therefore pleased to host in its magical frame an important event therefore, sponsored by National and International Authority , to testimony of its high value and prestige. This evening, Saturday October 28th 2006, in the splendid frame of Regina Palace Hotel, is renewed like of spell the tradition and the magic of the “Gran Ballo Vienna sul Lago”. The Organizing Committee addresses its best geetings and thanks to all the Authorities, civil and military, Italian and Austrians who with their adhesions and support, confirm and renew, year after year, confidence to its initiative.
Thanks to all the participants to the event who have contributed to the indubitable and growing success.
Thanks to the media that they have known to pick the spirit of this event, promoting it also to international level.
Thanks to the our prestigious Military Navy Force that it has intentional to tie its name therefore loaded with history to the event, and that this evening celebrates with us eleven years of its uninterrupted participation.
Thanks to the Cadets of the Naval Academy of Livorno for the engagement that they get down to this experience, for the exemplary and distinguished behavior that they have always held, that it relieves all us on the solidity of the reference values, often too much apparently dimmed with the uproar of the new vogue and tendencies that as meteors cross our life.
Thanks also to the young debs, for their dreams, their hopes, their willingness of living an experience that does not have age, because they are the actual test that in order to smile to the life is not necessary to resort to artificial stuff, but it needs only to want it and the courage not to fold themselves to the vain wave of a fleeting fashion, engaging themselves with determination to realize the own dreams, than like such, are always beautiful.
A particular thanks to the partners who support the event economically believing in the goodness of the same one, exceeding the suspicion and the indifference that often it accompanies initiatives like these and to all the collaborators that by now for ages they spare no pains with enthusiasm and reliability for the best one of the event. It is a particular thanks because around to this event a group of persons has been created, a group of organizers, collaborators, sponsor, media, that it has seen to be born and to grow, year after year, Vienna sul Lago, assuming itself free of charge a heavy engagement, fighting daily with thousand difficulties and the chronic lack of economic resources.
Fortunately, the force of the ideas is like the water that drop after drop digs the cliff, makes flat road slowly facing and exceeding all the roughness of the way. It is difficult to keep down the ideas: for this, although the thousands difficulties to the appeal of Vienna sul Lago, anyone never is not here, sure that once again the event will succeed to make hundreds of girls dream , giving to 24 of them an extraordinary experience that cannot be told but it can only living.
Without rhetorical words, we can say that these girls are the cream of the Italian youth. The cream because the emotion, the anxiety, simplicity of these girls are perceived clearly by everyone, and they do not ask to participate to the Gran Ballo in order to begin a acting career , or a career as models or “velina”, but ,simply, for living even though for one evening, their romantic dream of children.
But thanks to these dreams, initiatives of concrete solidarities have become truth: in fact, Vienna sul Lago supports with continuity, by its origin, the Constantinian Cross Onlus, Association that takes care of first aid and civil protection in the area of Novara. Then, to the appreciate hosts, to twentyfour splendid Debs and Young Officers of our prestigious Military Navy, we wish all the best going on to dream with inexhaustible enthusiasm, finding right courage in order to construct, as protagonist, a successful future and better society.
