In the wonderful scenery of the renewed Regina Palace Hotel, in a triumph of lights, crystals, stuccos and gold mirrors, where Lake Maggiore's waves, Sunday January 11, 2004, twenty-two young girls coming from all Italy, will take part at the traditional appointment of "Vienna sul Lago", one of the most important debs' balls in Europe, supported by the city of Vienna, the Ministry of the Foreign Office, Ministry of the Defence, Ministry of Fine Arts and Cultural Activities, the Austrian Embassies to the Quirinal and to the Holy See, the Piemonte's Province, the Town of Stresa, the general Austrian consulate, the Austrian Institute of Culture in Milan.
The lucky girls, who could achieve their dream, will dance with Pupils of the Navy Academy of Livorno, on the notes of the evergreen waltz, this year played by the international orchestra "Guido Cantelli" from Milan directed by Daniel Pacitti.
The event's proceeds will be used for the charitable works of the Holy Military Order Constantinian St. George's, ancient equestrian order, acknowledged by the Italian Republic and the Holy See and it's really active in the humanitarian enterprises. Thank to the event's proceeds collected in the last years, it was possible furnished many nursing-homes and social welfare centres with required apparatuses for the working of the same, as well as apparatuses useful to relieve the sufferings of the guests, at last it was founded and supported the voluntaries association Costantinian's Cross Onlus which carries out the useful service of first aid with their ambulances for Novara's 118.
In fact, a characteristic of this ancient order is the giving materials on demand expressed by beneficiary bodies in order to achieve concrete requirements.
The 2003's Cinderellas could rely on the Petervest's Novara -for the dresses- and G.A.P.N.A.S.'s-for the make up and hair style- staff to change into the princess at the Palace's great ball and on the M° Ida Pezzotti, the choreograph of the Etoil school of Oleggio, who teaches to them the graceful waltz's movements. So they could live their dream in the wonderful halls adorned with flowers, dining with their Cadet on the romantic notes of the "Caffè Concerto 900", waited on by Sommelier of the Association Sommelier of Italy, who have chosen a select of wines La Versa and Cantalupo, in the magic of lights created by Claudio Leone. At midnight at last, a gigantic cake prepared by the Confectioner Brenci of Novara which seals pleasantly their unforgettable evening.
From the list of the twenty two debs it's possible understand how the romantic dream accompanies each of them has no geographic limitation; from North to South, from East to West, the wish to dream and achieve what seemed impossible doesn't know frontiers neither obstacles. On the other hand, the renewed site web, also with English and German version, has been visited by "navigators" of Europe, south and North America, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia with a surprising daily concourse. As it's well-known, in consequence of the tragic events in Iraq that have involved ours Armed Forced, the organizing Committee of Vienna sul Lago has decided to suspend event foreseen for November 15, 2003. The Commettee renews deep sorrow with the victims' relatives and his solidarity and to all belongings to the Armed Forced engaged in peace decided by our Parliament. Nevertheless, more to be a traditional artistic and cultural event, as it's defined in his greeting by the President of the Republic, Vienna sul lago is also and above all an important charitable event. Consequently, in order to not compromise the programmed welfare plans, it's deemed opportune to fix a new date specified in the day of Sunday, January 11, 2004. It's added to that, the intention of aiding in the purchase of an ambulance to dedicate in memory of the Nassiryia's fallen in order to keep ideally up their humanitarian work.
